 brownie cheesecake squares
1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 pkg cream cheese (room temperature) 1/3 cup sugar 1 egg
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
2. In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and egg till creamy.
4. Pour brownie batter into pan, then scoop dollops of cream cheese batter and drop on top of brownie batter. Swirl with spoon/toothpick.
5. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes. Do not overcook. Cool after baking, and store in fridge overnight for easy cut-up! chocolate chip bread pudding
2 cups whipping cream 2 cups milk 3 large eggs 1.5 cups brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla essence 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon 1 loaf of day old bread; torn into small pieces 0.5 cup butter; melted 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1. preheat oven to 175 deg.C
2. mix all ingredients above except chocolate chips, mashing everything up. batter should have the consistency of an oatmeal breakfast.
3. throw in chocolate chips and pour out in a nicely buttered pan. i like to dust a bit more ground cinnamon before popping pan into oven.
4. bake for 60 mins for a crispy top and soggy bottoms. if you prefer your pudding not to have a cellulited-thigh-wiggle, bake with just bottom heat for another 5-10mins.eh, still on the topic of baby food, i've lost count as to how many times i cracked my head to think of things to include in her porridge. here's a new addi(c)tion, she wipes the bowl clean with this one!
1 frozen cube of steamed and pureed spinach & asparagus mix, diced carrots, wolfberries and a handful worth of white bait! isn't really appeasing to the eyes but hey, it's filled with rich goodness hokay! Looks like the string department is the way to go this fall. Some people should know where this track is from (hint: new haven).

someone turned 1 yesterday :) and this crymummy shed melancholy tears after putting her to sleep the night before.. time's moving too fast, eh? 365 days ago this happened and now she's toddling away.. Happy birthday sayang! I have the Playskool Step Start Walk n Ride to sell, as in the photo above. Cant remember how much I got it for from ToysRus but letting for $18, price negotiable! from this to this from thecrepesofwrath M&M Cookies adapted from Bucky’s Barbecue and Bread 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup butter, melted 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 egg 1 egg yolk 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 cups M&Ms (or peanut M&Ms) 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside. 2. Beat together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the egg, then beat in the egg yolk. Beat in the vanilla. 3. Gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture until just moistened. Mix in the M&Ms by hand. (i had some left over semisweets so i dumped those in too) 4. Roll into balls, place on a greased baking sheet, and press down on it with your palm a bit to flatten (not too much!). 5. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges look golden brown. Remember that they need to cool on the baking sheet, so even if they don’t look quite set, it’s okay because they continue to cook after you remove them from the oven. ps: ignore the crispy bar. tersalah cekut ;) in other news, mari iftar bersama kanye west? urgh!

saturday we lounged at home in the morning, the boy left for his shoot at noon and we rolled in and out of bed. i started streaming friends when i was on maternity leave, and finished off the last episode of season 10 with d last saturday. took a nice 4 hr nap with her on our bed, woke up with a jolt at 6 and immediately roused her from sleep and got ready to leave for Pameran. spent about an hour at Pameran chingchong a bit, and then to wati & meraj's chalet at changi cottage, where while crawling on the wooden floor upstairs, she rolled to her side and konked her head for a bit. sunday

sunday morning woke up to news that mummy is warded for a blood clot on her right leg. the boy left for his shoot again at noon and as soon as d woke up from her nap and lunched, i hauled her in the bjorn, met lipglossy and sarah @ yishun mrt and led ourselves to marina sq. main aim was to test drive a lightweight stroller that i can fold and open with one hand. and that's the combi well comfort. the damage? $450. the boy will kill me la. hate late lunch/early dinner at secret recipe, walked around a bit, mimi showed me the way to hip carry using the hotsling (i still fail, i need a bigger size!!) and then the boy picked us up and headed to the hospital to visit mummy. met up with The Noons there and then supper at bedok corner. damnit i'm craving for a good oyster ommelette now :(
monday after her first feed i brought her out for a nice sunny walk and checked out the temporary cold storage tentage in front of y10, and it sucked. only managed to get pumpkin and sweet potato for d's consumption. thought of heading to k.palace but looking at the time it was only 9.30am. took a cab back to our place, YES cab coz it was so freaking hot. got back, fed her breakfast and as she just plonked her head for her nap i received smses about a last minute gathering at one of the sept07 mummies' place! So while most of the others were already making their way to blue's place, I was waiting eagerly for d to wake up from her nap. at 12.30 i realised if i ever wanted to make it to blue's place i needed to make some noise so she'll wake up heh. and so i did, we got ready as fast as we could and zoomed off to bishan.

these are from darmae :)

the girls, minus shy Yan. d was busy clapping.
the boys with half a zac who was sleeping on his dad's lap
twas nice meeting up with these ladies who i've been talking online with for a year plus, at least. the babies got along very well! we should have another meetup soon :)
left for nurul's at 3ish, nurul made maggi goreng, huda the VERY capable ANAK DARA made crabstick and cheese wantan and fruit salad and me, brownies with chocolate ganache. after the feast we sprawled on the floor with d, the weather was just too hot to handle lah! drilled huda a bit heh heh.
happy 8th month, my darling. i love it when you clap on cue, or when you see us clapping. 8mth old and clapping, masyaAllah!
last night i lay beside you and watched you sleep with your pursed lips like your ayah, your eyes half closed even though you're deep in sleep, just like me. i ruffle your sweaty head of curls and place my finger in your hand and realised the three days spent with you were priceless. i wanna do it all over again :) this is more of a personal entry just to keep tabs on what she's taken in. d's started with solids when she turned 6mths and so far her tiny tumtum has taken in these!
